Dr. Monalisa Goswami Sarma, MD (Pediatrics), DNB (Neurology), IOC Diploma in Sports Medicine, is a distinguished Neurologist and Child Neurology Specialist, currently serving as the Chief Consultant Neurologist at Nemcare Hospitals Pvt. Ltd., Guwahati. She is the first in Northeast India to specialize in Child Neurology and the first neurologist in the country to earn the prestigious Diploma in Sports Medicine from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) — a rigorous two-year program integrating sports science and neurological care.

Dr. Monalisa completed her MD in Pediatrics from Guwahati Medical College and subsequently pursued her DNB in Neurology, combining her expertise in pediatrics and neurology to provide holistic, patient-centered care. Her major areas of interest include Epilepsy, Pediatric Neurology, Headache, Sports Medicine, and overall Health and Wellbeing.

An avid researcher and academician, she has several publications in reputed national and international journals and is a frequent speaker and resource person at medical conferences, symposiums, and CMEs. Notably, she collaborated with researchers from IIT Guwahati’s Department of Design on in vivo studies of silk-based gold nanocomposite conduits for peripheral nerve regeneration, a pioneering interdisciplinary project in neurodegenerative research.

Actively involved in community health initiatives, Dr. Monalisa works with non-profit organizations such as Deepsikha Foundation, raising awareness about Cancer, Epilepsy, Dementia, and neurological health. Known for her compassion, innovation, and leadership, she continues to advance neurological care, education, and wellness in Northeast India and beyond.
