Dr. Ubedul Islam is an accomplished physician and academician currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at Gauhati Medical College & Hospital, Guwahati. With an MBBS (1999) and MD in Medicine (2004) from Gauhati Medical College, he has over 19 years of extensive experience in teaching, clinical practice, and research.

His research interests span infectious diseases, cardiometabolic disorders, and public health, with notable projects including the critical analysis of COVID-19 cases in Assam and biomarker profiling in hypertensive heart disease. Dr. Islam has made significant academic contributions as a Chapter Editor for the McMaster Textbook of Internal Medicine 2022 (South Asia Edition) and as a resource person for the National Health Mission, Assam
